Chamber Update for the Week - It's March!

Where did February go?  We are already 3 days into March and as I'm writing February reports, I cannot believe how fast the days seem to be flying by!  I'm ok with it - I'm looking forward to warm weather and less snow/ice!

Our Executive Board just finished a great meeting this morning discussing Strategy for the year, our action plan and exciting things happening at the Chamber.   Our restructuring will take a few months to roll out, but we are already seeing positive results from some of our changes.

Our member newsletter was sent out yesterday with important member news, but here is a summary of what we have been up to this week!

~We had a great meeting with Sara Capen with Niagara Falls National Heritage Area. They are a great partner of the Chamber and we welcome them to our Stakeholder level of membership.  They have invested in our strategy and what we are doing in the community.  We look forward to GREAT things to come!

~Jennifer led the Niagara Area Foundation meeting on Tuesday.  The board had special guests speak about environmental concerns and projects in Niagara County.  The environment is not always top of mind and it is nice to know that there are organizations out there that are making sure the land, water and air are safe for our communities.

~One of the Chamber task forces looking at membership/marketing for the strategic plan met this week.

~Jennifer attended the Community Foundation of Buffalo, Q1 meeting on Wednesday.  She has an ex-officio position on the board as Chairperson of the Niagara Area Foundation.

~We met with our former employee Christina, who is now a marketing specialist at Danforth.  We discussed some aspects of our new branding process and wanted to get some input from her!  It was nice catching up with Christina and we are so proud of what she has accomplished at Danforth!

~The Jazz Festival Executive Board met on Thursday.  The Chamber manages the festival and carries out the work of the board.

~This morning Suzanne attended the William Mayne Grant meeting for business associations in Niagara County at the Center of Economic Development.

~We have received information regarding assistance from Winter Storm Elliott. SBA offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents of NY Affected by December 2022 Winter Storm Elliott. NY Businesses and residents affected by Winter Storm Elliott are eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
