Reggae music has birthed yet another rarity - a spirited and soulful singer/songwriter in the eloquent and enchanted empress Etana. Since recognizing the power of music and widespread influence, singer/songwriter Shauna McKenzie returned to her birthplace Jamaica after being left with a negative pop industry experience. Adopting the moniker of Etana for it’s powerful meaning, “The Strong One,” in Swahili, her strength was manifested this time around by pursuing a musical career on her own terms.

Etana’s elegantly modest Rasta-chic sartorial style is as distinctive as her sound - an audacious fusion of folk, soul, jazz and reggae supporting a powerful vocal range suggestive of the ancestral spirit of South Africa’s Miriam Makeba, the Regality of reggae queen Marcia Griffiths, and the soulful verve of Etta James. “I looked at how women were being represented in Jamaican music and how little girls were being influenced negatively by tinder surroundings, and I wanted to be a positive influence and change some of the way things that were being taught,” Etana reflected.

Vivacious singer, songwriter and producer, Alaine has established herself in the reggae and world music industry as a true talent. Her bubbly, warm personality, effervescent smile and unforgettable songs have placed her in a league of her own. Born in New Jersey, USA and raised in Jamaica, Alaine grew up studying piano, acting and singing on stage, radio and television. As a child she was a member of the Jamaica Folk Singers, starred in commercials, and made her big screen debut in the 1988 movie “Clara’s Heart” starring Whoopi Goldberg.

Alaine released two successful albums in Japan, Sacrifice (Avex, 2007) and Luv-a-dub (Koyashi Haikyu, 2009). Many of her songs have been included on leading reggae compilations to date. She also released a third full album, "Ten of Hearts," in 2015 to rave reviews both locally and internationally.

Duane Stephenson has distinguished himself as a respected singer and songwriter with a purity of heart and sound that can be felt from the first note of his melodic instrument. From the quality of his voice to his potent lyrics and memorable melodies, Duane ably addresses a variety of issues, ranging from powerful social commentary, to romance. Duane’s work as a singer and songwriter are reflective of his early artistic exposure to the music industry veterans, many of whom have provided guidance and inspiration along his path.

His first album titled ‘From August Town’ was released on Cannon/VP Records in 2008 and was produced by one of his musical mentors, the legendary Jamaican saxophonist Dean Fraser. Duane’s second album ‘Black Gold’ was released on VP Records in 2010 and was nominated for the 2010 Album of the Year at Jamaica’s EME (Excellence in Music & Entertainment) Awards. In 2014, Duane released the album ‘Dangerously Roots’ to critical and popular acclaim. For many, this third album solidified him as a Reggae singer of exceptional quality. Duane Stephenson continues along his musical journey, consistently creating music that uplifts and enlightens in fulfillment of his greater mission for the betterment of humanity.
