Wash Your Hands and other Coronavirus info!

You are most likely following the news regarding COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus.  It seems like we are constantly in the realm of reminding our family, coworkers, and others to wash their hands!  Many of our businesses have been proactive in having hand sanitizer readily available on the counter-top.

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce and its partners within the health care system, hospitality and business industries are ensuring the community is prepared for COVID-19. How will this affect our tourist season and day to day business transactions? It is still hard to forecast at this time, however we are staying on top of the situation and are putting plans in place should we have to make last minute changes to our marketing efforts, events and day to day business in general.

Here are some tips on what we can do to protect our businesses, employees and customers:

1. Wash Hands Regularly (at least 20 seconds each time)
2. Have Hand Sanitizer on desks and counters for others to use
3. Cover nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing
4. Wipe down counters, cash registers, keyboards and mouse often with cleaning wipes.
5. Greet with smiles and avoid handshakes
6. If you or an employee is sick, work from home, get plenty of fluids and rest.
7. If you have flu-like symptoms, seek medical care.
